Welcome back to another great school year in Washington County Public Schools. We are so excited about the many opportunities that this school year brings for your child to excel in academics, the arts, and athletics. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve your family and this community. Here are 5 ways to help your child get this school year off to a great start:

1-Get in a routine quickly. Summer usually allows us to deviate from a school-time sleep pattern. Children need to transition into a school-time sleep pattern of adequate rest for a productive day.

2-Make sure the school has your most recent contact information. Please return all the forms as quickly as possible in case you need to be contacted.

3-Speak positively to your child about their school year and their abilities to learn and make new friends.

4-Remember for your child's safety, all bus changes must be made by way of a note from home.

5-The first week of car and bus loading can be slow until everyone learns the process. Exercise caution and patience as everyone learns together. Expect buses to arrive a little later in the first week as students learn where their respective bus is in the loading line at school. As always, if you have any needs or concerns, please let us know.

Stay Up-to-Date

Important Note to Parents About Bus Changes

Dear Parents,

The District reviews procedures during the summer to improve safety measures and service to students.  After our summer review, we determined that “bus changes” should be improved in order to ensure the safety of students.  In order to ensure that your child arrives to the location that you have requested, we will require a note from the child’s guardian or guardian designee.  No phone calls will be taken for bus changes.

If you need to make a bus change during the day, the guardian or a designee of the guardian (person must be listed on the student’s sign-out list), must come to the school to complete a bus pass. This change will help us provide a safe environment for our children.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
